Harry Davis 1886 - 1917

Harry Davis


Harry Davis was born in Welwyn 10th November 1886 and baptised on the 2nd January the following year. He was the second son of William and Sarah Davis of Mimram Road.


In 1901 he was working as a Post Office Messenger and in 1911 as a Grocer’s Porter.


On the 23rd April 1917 the 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment were involved in the Battle of Arras and in particular the attack on La Coulotte. Over 320 men of the Battalion were lost, including Harry Davis
